As we know, India is in the grips of the deadly second wave of the pandemic. Xoriant has its largest workforce presence in India. The health and well-being of all Xorianters is our number one priority now.
Ever since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020, we deployed a three-pronged approach - prioritizing employee safety, ensuring continuous customer delivery, and supporting the community. We quickly established a cross-functional task force that identified and developed ways to respond to diverse challenges that COVID-19 threw us. We also rapidly pivoted to a remote working model. This was quite a feat at that time considering the procurement of systems, maximizing network capabilities without disrupting operations, and yet ensuring business delivery in record time. We defined new policies, processes, and various programs to ensure employee safety and well-being, while continuously monitoring business impact.
As this crisis exponentially escalated, we realized employees facing an unprecedented need for paid sick leave and financial support. We now offer COVID-19 specific medical insurance support to all our employees and their families along with support for hospitalization claims. We are also advancing advance salary for employees for personal emergencies, paid leaves during vaccination and recovery. To support our colleagues battle through anxiety and stress during these troubling times, we launched virtual physical and mental wellness programs, extended the reach of psychological counseling services and systematized the process for teleconsulting with professional doctors. We continue to do our best to help our customers maintain business operations and delivery with the orchestration of a relentless remote working team with digital infrastructure, backed by a micro-level business contingency plan for every client and stakeholder.
It has been remarkable to witness how our clients and customers are coming together to support the global effort against this pandemic. Some of our clients have offered extra paid leaves for their project teams, while some have offered monetary help for employees directly or indirectly affected by the virus. We are thankful for all your support and goodwill and are committed to serving you now and in the future.
